One of the great delusions on the right is that you can get something for nothing when it comes to wanting a powerful military without paying taxes to support it (and to support the wounded warriors that return home). It's also why wingnuts think it's OK for freeloading private rancher Cliven Bundy to graze his cattle on public land for 20 years and not pay grazing fees like other ranchers do.

Not exactly, the 1% believe that only 2 things in the federal budget are constitutional, quelling domestic dissent from the likes of Occupy which threaten business and profit and using the military to open up foreign markets for exploitation.
Everything else, including things explicitly in the Constitution the Post Office are unconstitutional.
Addtionally, the cost of the military and paramilitary domestic forces needs to be borne by the working class not the Job Creator Class.
And the 1% actually get something for nothing via tax credits, the "carried interest" scam, loopholes, offshore accounts, etc.
