Turn Off, Tune Out, and Drop The Pretense

It's reported that MSNBC is dropping some of the last vestiges of its progressive programming.  Yesterday, Mediaite broke the news that "Morning Joe", hosted by the insufferably smug duo of Joe "Joe Scar" Scarborough and his TV wife and empty sweater Mika Brzezinski will expand from three hours to four hours (ironically bumping the channel's only on-air Hispanic anchor, Jose Diaz-Balart, off the air at the height of Latino immigrant bashing).  In addition, Willie Geist, another legacy hire (hi, Luke Russert!) and one of Joe Scar's yes men, is reported to be getting the 8 p.m. time slot of progressive Chris Hayes, and Chuck "Not My Job" Todd is reportedly slated for the slot once occupied by liberal labor advocate Ed Schultz.   Al Sharpton is reported to be moving to a Sunday slot.  The channel is selling this shakeup as a shift to more "news" oriented programming, but the message is clear:  voices of progressive opinion are being culled out.

With MSNBC's decision to go with either neutral or more Republican-friendly programming in the afternoon and evening hours, and giving Republican blowhard Joe Scar an additional hour in the important morning hours, progressive viewers have to be more selective in their viewing, or turn to alternative media.  Another Fox Lite won't cut it.
