Weekend Promised Land Song

Rock and roll founding father Chuck Berry turned a robust 90 last week (October 18), and he's still going strong.  It's hard to imagine any significant rock musician he hasn't influenced, from the Beatles and Rolling Stones to Bruce Springsteen. He's releasing his new album --"Chuck"-- next year, but we're going to feature a song from 1964 that name- checks places in a trip across the United States, before getting to the "Promised Land" of Los Angeles. Keep in mind when he mentions Birmingham, Alabama, and Louisiana, this was in the heat of the civil rights movement when people were struggling against embedded segregation - gives the lyrics special meaning. Enjoy your weekend.
