Russian thug Putin apparently continues to play him through fake news stories generated by Russian "bots" which Rump repeats as factual. Far more importantly, Putin can pull some financial strings through his wealthy Russian associates, who have "invested" in the Trump Organization properties, for example. As Uday Donald Trump, Jr. said in 2008,

"Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia."

There is likely more Russian money involved, laundered through the Bank of Cyprus and Deutche Bank. Rump knows if Putin has the "lot of money pouring in from Russia" stopped, the Trump Organization could collapse, along with Rump's fragile ego. For Rump, having his business collapse is unthinkable, even if possible treason is involved in the bargain. Being "played" through Putin's flattery and supportive hacking is just the tip of the iceberg, guaranteed.
