Immigration Nation

A group of Senators today announced a proposed framework for immigration reform. The group includes Rethug Senators John "Grumpypants" McCain, Marco "Polo" Rubio and Jeff "Flakey" Flake, and Dem Senators Charles Schumer, Dick Durbin and Bob Menendez.

The proposal would add more technology and border agents to secure the borders, and would provide a "path to citizenship" for undocumented workers here in the U.S. It remains to be seen whether the Rethug far right will accept the deal, since it's seen as a boon to the Dems politically. But they really have no choice: when 71 percent of the population votes against you in 2012, and that population is growing, that's demographic suicide.

UPDATE: "He Who Shall Be Obeyed" (hate radio's porcine Rush Limpballs) says it's up to him and Fux to stop immigration reform. We fervently hope he does his damnedest, and drags his Rethug followers down with him.
