Plutocrats Prevail On Minimum Wage Hike

Acting on instructions from their plutocrat contributors, Senate Rethuglicans killed the latest bill that would have raised the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour by a vote of 54 to 42.  A 60 vote supermajority was necessary to prevent a filibuster that Rethuglicans had threatened.

Dems are counting on this type of anti-middle class voting to help them in the 2014 mid-term elections. Several Dem Senators in "red states" can use this as part of a populist, fighting for the middle class pitch to the voters -- if the voters vote their economic interests, and if the Dems push it hard.
