India -- and the Indian diaspora -- is celebrating Diwali, or Festival of Lights, a celebration akin to the Fourth of July and Christmas here. It's a time to celebrate light over darkness / good over evil, and to gather with family to enjoy dancing, singing and food. To our readers from that heritage, happy Diwali!
