Ukraine's armed forces suddenly found their access to Starlink internet terminal services limited, with the result being a hampering of ground operations and limited ability to defend against Russia's drones. From The Guardian:
"Ukrainian soldiers in combat have suddenly had their access to Starlink satellite internet terminals restricted as the Trump administration has increased pressure on Ukraine to halt long-range strikes on Russia’s oil industry immediately.
The terminals, which are distributed and managed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, are a key component of Ukraine’s military operations and the sudden restrictions on the terminals travelling at high speeds on Tuesday evening led to the failure of several combat missions, said an adviser on military technology to Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The sudden outage came as Russia launched ballistic missiles at Ukraine without any advance warning from the US for a second night. For years, the US has provided Ukraine with intelligence when strikes were about to take place." (our emphasis)
Clearly the order went from the corrupt Putin puppet Malignant Fascist to his South Afrikaner fascist financier Elon Musk to throttle back the speed of the Starlink service in order to cripple Ukraine's capabilities. In the past, Musk has curtailed Ukraine's use of Starlink to target territory held by Russia, specifically over Crimea and in the Donetsk and Kherson regions allegedly to avoid escalation with Russia.
This latest betrayal is reason enough for the next Dem President and Congress to seize control of the Starlink system (at a minimum) for national security purposes. We can't have wealthy fascist oligarchs interfering in our national security policy by playing games with critical systems.
