Mid-Week Song

A very happy 42nd birthday to the amazing singer / songwriter / pianist Alicia Keys, a 15-time Grammy winner and one of the best-selling artists in the world with 30 million albums sold. She's also active in the fight against AIDS with her Keep A Child Alive philanthropy, and was one of the speakers at the 2017 Women's March on Washington following the election of the Malignant Loser.  Here's her mega hit from 2007 "No One," off of her hit album "As I Am."

Mid-Week Song

Debuting last week on a CNN global town hall program, Alicia Keys' new classic, "Good Job," is a tribute to all of the essential workers who are keeping us afloat, from doctors and nurses, to grocery and postal workers, to police, fire and EMS personnel, and many more. It seems so inadequate given the risk and sacrifice, but "good job" is the least we can say to them. We can do more by giving them our maximum support now and going forward, like staying home, donating PPE, and donating to your local food banks and restaurants feeding health care and public safety workers.

Mid-Week Birthday Blend Song

The beautiful and talented singer/pianist Alicia Keys celebrates her 36th birthday today, and if you saw her live or on TV last Saturday at the Women's March in Washington, you had to be impressed with her political awareness, charisma, and ability to inspire the marchers. We're featuring a song that this 15-time Grammy winner released last fall, "Blended Family (What You Do For Love)", which is about "blending" her stepson (in her case, her producer husband Swizz Beatz's son by his former wife, singer Mashonda) into a loving, extended family. Enjoy.
