Bleachers, led by famed singer / songwriter / producer Jack Antonoff, released their latest single "You and Forever" last month, a love song for Antonoff's wife Margaret Qualley. Antonoff has won 13 Grammy awards and has co-written or produced works from artists like Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey, Lorde and many others. Enjoy.

Last week's passing of The Shangri-Las lead vocalist Mary Weiss at age 75 was another nudge for us about mortality and the ever-faster passage of time. As a teenager, Weiss, along with her older sister Betty and twins Mary Ann and Margie Ganser, sang songs of teenage angst and longing that were overtaken by the British invasion and changes in popular music in the 1960s. "Leader Of The Pack," "Remember (Walking In The Sand)," and "Give Him A Great Big Kiss" were three of their best known songs from that era. Here, in a worn video from 1965 when Weiss was 16, they perform "Right Now and Not Later" on ABC's "Shivaree" program.
Jack Antonoff's Bleachers recently released "Modern Girl," the first single from their upcoming album. It's another retro- rock song with E Street Band vibes (not unusual given Antonoff's New Jersey roots and past collaboration with The Boss). Hope you enjoy.
New York City's Bleachers, fronted by Jack Antonoff, recently received some added buzz by collaborating with Bruce Springsteen on their 2020 single, "Chinatown." Now they're out with a new album, "Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night," and a brand new single (co-written with Lana Del Rey), "Don't Go Dark," which we think illustrates Springsteen's influence on the band's music.
Our second song, "Out of Time," appeared on threeRolling Stones albums: "Aftermath" (1966 UK release), "Flowers" (1967 US release), and "Metamorphosis" (1975 release, with only Mick Jagger from the Stones performing). The version from "Flowers" is the one we're most familiar with (and it's shorter by about 2 minutes), and is the one we're using. Surprisingly, "Out of Time" has never been performed live by the Rolling Stones (along with all the other songs on the second side of the UK version of "Aftermath"!)! Hope you enjoy the music, with Brian Jones adding a quirky but effective marimba, and set aside the Stones' patented mid-60's macho fronting!
