Nowhere Lady

On CNN, Rethug "political analyst" Alex Castellanos was pulled up short by the tough Paul Begala when Castellanos tried to repeat the fable that Gov. Who? was opposed to the Bridge to Nowhere. Atrios has the excerpt from the transcript. The simple "that's not true" was wonderful in itself, but Begala interrupts CNN hair-man John "See No Evil" Roberts to remind him that facts matter, and shouldn't be subject to debate.

By the way, during her 20 months as governor, Who? supported $589 million in earmarks for Alaska, the highest per capita amount of any state in the union. Oink oink.

Nowhere Bridge

The infamous "Bridge to Nowhere" in Alaska has finally died. The $392 million pet pork project of Alaska Sen. Ted "Internet Tubes" Stevens, the bridge was widely ridiculed as a prime example of unnecessary pork projects that balloon the Federal budget. Stevens is under Federal investigation for allowing companies with business before the Senate to remodel his Alaska residence.

If he loses his Senate seat, he can always find work as an Internet consultant.
