Republicans Get Diversionary Talking Points As Epstein Files Release Nears

 

The Epstein-Trump files are scheduled for release this Friday, December 19, according to law.  Given how desperate the Malignant Fascist has been to keep the files hidden, the expectation is that they contain pervasive evidence of the MF's general moral turpitude (not that that's ever been a problem for his most loyal followers) and his specific involvement in the Epstein sex trafficking operation.  Meanwhile, Republicans are scrambling to get their messaging straight in order to protect their cult leader and Epstein BFF from existential damage.  From Courier:

A leaked memo that circulated through Congress Tuesday details talking points Republicans are expected to use when talking about the Epstein Files as a way to protect President Donald Trump, conveying an image of a party resigned to the fact that those files will indeed be published on Friday and that their leader will be implicated in one of the most extensive international sex trafficking operations in recent history.

The memo, first published by Fox News, outlines how congressional Republicans should direct any discussion surrounding the contents of the Epstein Files away from Trump, and outlined a list of accusations to allege against journalists and Democratic lawmakers. In essence, the memo gives step-by-step instructions on how to utilize a psychological manipulation tactic known as DARVO (deny, attack, reverse victim and offender) in order to brush aside any alleged wrongdoing by the president, while villainizing his opposition and framing Trump as the victim.

“Democrats have demonstrated a sustained pattern of misconduct,” the memo reads. “To fabricate yet another politically motivated hoax targeting President Trump. As a result, nothing Democrats post or leak on this matter can be taken at face value. Equally troubling, much of the Legacy Media has uncritically amplified these falsehoods, acting as a willing conduit rather than performing basic due diligence.”

Missing from the document are any points that refute the accuracy or legitimacy of the actual contents of the Epstein Files, or any calls for accountability for the alleged co-conspirators. Instead, Republicans have been given marching orders to endlessly litigate to the press how the information has been released — and then attack the press for not sugarcoating the contents of the files... Here we go again with the "hoax" framing and attempting to picture the MF as a victim.  Well, that should go over well with Epstein's true victims and with everyone who's been demanding to know the truth about the Epstein sex trafficking operation and elites evading accountability!  It's possible the cowed corporate media will fall in line with the "playing the refs" strategy, but this is too big a story to make flimsy "both sides" excuses (note that the memo was originally published by Fox News, possibly in a move to deflate the Republican media strategy), especially as it involves the sitting President.

We'll have to wait to see what the DOJ releases, but we firmly believe that proverb:  the truth will out.

Trump Says Venezuela Land Action Coming

 

The always-deflecting and Epstein-Trump files distracting Malignant Fascist likes to project a tough, military image despite never serving and dodging the draft with a false bone spurs exemption, and speaking dismissively about fallen military as "suckers" and "losers."  His extrajudicial attacks on boats in the Caribbean have raised Constitutional questions and been criticized by our allies.  Yesterday, in a call to service members no less, Cadet Bone Spurs escalated his rhetoric regarding Venezuela, reports CNN:

"President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that the United States is preparing to take new action against alleged drug trafficking networks in Venezuela, telling service members during a Thanksgiving call that efforts for strikes on land will be starting “very soon.”

'In recent weeks, you’ve been working to deter Venezuelan drug traffickers, of which there are many. Of course, there aren’t too many coming in by sea anymore,' Trump told service members in the call.

'You probably noticed that people aren’t wanting to be delivering by sea, and we’ll be starting to stop them by land also,' the president continued. 'The land is easier, but that’s going to start very soon.' [snip]

Trump comments suggest he has made up his mind on a course of action in Venezuela following multiple high-level briefings and a mounting US show of force in the region earlier this month.

Trump designated Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his government allies as members of a foreign terrorist organization earlier this week."  (our emphasis)

You can bet that incompetent and reckless Defense Secretary "Whiskey Pete" Hegseth has been at the forefront of providing the gasoline to pour on the MF's fire of distraction.  You can also be assured that this is much less about drugs flowing into the U.S. from Venezuela than it is about their extensive oil reserves.  MAGAt Representative Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-Cubano Gusano) said as much in an interview on Fox earlier this week: 

"Venezuela, for those Americans who do not understand why we need to go in, for three– basically, for three reasons.

Venezuela for the American oil companies will be a field day because there will be more than a trillion dollars in economic activity. American companies can go in and fix all the oil pipe, the whole oil rigs and everything that has to do with the Venezuelan petroleum companies or everything that has to do with oil and the derivatives...."

Foreign military  intervention has been a no-no in MAGAland, so any ground operation -- especially if it's more than just a quick raid -- is likely to further erode support in the MF's base.

The ever more inane distractions just keep on coming!  Here's the latest such emanation on his failing social media platform from our hopped-up Very Stable Genius (including his recent formulation that, like his Epstein-procured dates, our Country is the "HOTTEST"):

Note how, as the ahistorical, racist white nationalist that he is, he doesn't want museums to say "how bad Slavery was" !?!  

He's promising another shakedown, this time of museums just like previous shakedowns of media, law firms, corporations, and colleges and universities.

Undoing Tulsi Gabbard's Silly Smear

 

Unqualified conspiracy monger and consistently pro-Russian Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard recently incurred the anger of the mentally disturbed Malignant Fascist when her testimony about Iran's nuclear capabilities undercut his justification for bombing Iran's facilities. She also posted a strange video claiming that we were closer to nuclear war than ever, which didn't further endear her.

Now, to get back into the MF's good graces and create a diversion from the Epstein scandal, the flaky Gabbard has called for an "investigation" of the Obama-era intelligence community's claims of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Her reckless memo targets former intelligence officials James Clapper, James Comey, and John Brennan for supposedly "weaponizing" intelligence against the MF. Her false charge has already triggered the MF into imagining putting President Obama in jail. 

Cathy Young at "The Bulwark" has an excellent takedown of Gabbard's obvious attempt to please the MF:

"FRIDAY’S MEMO RELEASED BY TULSI GABBARD, the director of national intelligence, claiming that the intelligence community 'manipulated and withheld' key evidence in the 'Russiagate' investigation in 2016—and her even more explosive allegation that high-level Obama administration officials 'weaponized' intelligence to 'lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup' against Donald Trump—was met with predictable joy among the usual suspects: MAGA loyalists as well as those leftists, like Matt Taibbi, whose loathing of the American “national security state” has made them de facto MAGA bedfellows.  Gabbard’s statement, which explicitly threatened the alleged wrongdoers (including former FBI director James Comey, CIA director John Brennan, and DNI James Clapper) with prosecution for “treasonous conspiracy,” not only vindicates the Trumpian narrative of the “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax” but represents a disturbing escalation in Trump’s vendetta against officials who he feels crossed him during his first administration.

What follows is Young's well-researched take down of Gabbard's "nothingburger" that is a must read. It reiterates Gabbard's utter unfitness to serve as DNI, which has to be nonpartisan to be effective and trusted by our allies' intelligence services, something reportedly she's not enjoying. In addition to degrading the role of the DNI by this partisan attack, Gabbard is also serving the interests of her friends in the Kremlin, who celebrated Gabbard's dishonest claims, as Young reports. 

Every day Gabbard remains as DNI is a threat to our national security and a gift to our adversaries.
