Sunday Funnies

Recently, the Kaplan Daily has been giving a lot of column space and credibility to two Fox "News" in-house "Democratic" pollsters, Pat Caddell and Doug Schoen. Four op/eds in eight months -- not bad for a couple of hacks with no influence whatsoever except perhaps in the wingnut bubble that is the Fox "News" universe. Invariably they produce screeds that provide a laughably dishonest view of what's going on in the country and in the Democratic Party.

Today is no exception. Steve Benen has some commentary and a link to their latest dropping. Wait 'til you see what their high concept is...

Quote of the Week

"Oh my God, Fox has been outsourcing even their bullshit-manufacturing jobs." - Jon Stewart on yesterday's Daily Show referring to reports that Fox "News" relied on an Indian provincial official for its phony story, widely reported on multiple Fox programs, that Obama's trip to Asia is costing $200 million a day(!). One thing Fox does get right: it relies on its audience to be gullible fools, and for the most part they are.

Why Are We Not Surprised?

When President Obama addressed graduating West Point cadets last Saturday, fair and balanced Fux News was there to cover it. But when Fux aired a clip of the President, the audience's applause was magically missing from the audio, leaving the President seeming to pause and stare into a silent audience.

Perhaps Fux's audio failed because the President clearly rejected the neocon philosophy of strike first, and develop a false justification later, which Dumbya and The Dick perfected, and which Fux promoted vigorously. Of course, they'd hate to have their wingnut viewers think that the West Point grads actually approved of what the President was saying. That wouldn't be fair and balanced.
