QOTD -- Don't Hang Back

"There’s this theory out there that if we just kind of hang back, don’t do much, then the people in charge today will screw it up, and then they’ll get blamed for it and then we’ll win.  I disagree.  First of all, while I agree that they will screw it up, I disagree that we should let them.  And I also disagree that they will be blamed for it.  They may not be good at governing but they are really good at allocating blame." -- former Transportation Secretary and veteran Pete Buttigieg speaking at a town hall yesterday in Cedar Rapids, IA, hosted by VoteVets Action Fund on why it's important to fight the Malignant Fascist at every turn and not "hang back" (looking at you, Carville).  Buttigieg passed on running in 2026 for Governor or Senator in Michigan, where he resides, leading observers to believe he's planning a run for President in 2028 (if there's an election, that is).  He's one of the party's most focused and articulate leaders, so his presence out on the hustings can only be a positive.

QOTD -- Buttigieg FTW

"First of all, I'm glad to have a President who can ride a bicycle." -- Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, responding to shouty Texass seditionist Rep. Troy Nehls' insulting litany of tired American Taliban talking points about President Biden's physical and mental condition (one of Nehl's sad burns was that Biden "falls off bicycles," which is objectively true, but now just get the image of the morbidly obese Malignant Loser on a bicycle out of your mind!).  Buttigieg's wit and ability to skewer these submoron Republican officials is a wonder to behold.  More please!

QOTD -- Family Values

The idea of the likes of Rush Limbaugh or Donald Trump lecturing anybody on family values...  I mean, sorry but, one thing about my marriage is it’s never involved me sending hush money to a porn star after cheating on my spouse.”  -- Pete Buttigieg last night at a "CNN Town Hall."  Following the outrage resulting from alleged (!) underage sex tourist Oxycontin Rush Limbaugh's recent homophobic attacks on Buttigieg's marriage, family values paragon Donald "Grab 'Em By The P*ssy" Trump called his pig cosplaying buddy and told him not to apologize for the remarks.  That's all you need to know about Republican family values in one sentence.

QOTD -- Your Democratic Sampler

"Whatever issue brings you here today, I guarantee you it’s touched by corruption. So here’s how I think about this. We have got to make changes. Not nibbling change. Not one statute over here and one over there and a little piece of regulation over there. We need big systemic change in this country."-- Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), at a town hall meeting Saturday in Cincinnati.

“It was given to him, just like he’s inherited everything else in his life. And just like everything else he’s been given in his life, he’s in the process of squandering that as well.”--  former VP Joe Biden on Trump inheriting the "Obama-Biden" economy, in his Philadelphia campaign kickoff rally Saturday.

It is the nature of grotesque things that you can’t look away.”-- Mayor Pete Buttigieg, asked by Fux "News'" Chris Wallace about the attraction of Trump's tweets to some, including the media, at an event in New Hampshire.

When you lift up the economic status of women, you lift up their families, their neighborhoods, and all of society.”-- Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), in Los Angeles Sunday, in outlining her plan for equal pay for equal work for women in corporate America.
