Weekend Music

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' 12th album (their first since 2016), "Unlimited Love," was just released this month, and it's first single, "Black Summer," quickly went to #1 on the alternative rock charts.  Musically, the album marks the welcome return of John Frusciante's melodic guitar work.  And, of course, this video of "Black Summer" wouldn't be a RHCP video without now- 59- year- old Anthony Kiedis stripping to the waist.  Hope you enjoy (the music!).

Weekend Music Two-oo-oo-fer

Local DC/ Silver Spring alt- indie trio SHAED released "No Other Way" last October and, like most musical acts, have been pretty much off the concert circuit since the start of the pandemic. They will, however be performing in the "Rock 'N' Relief" live stream concert benefiting an organization providing free COVID-19 tests and vaccinations nationwide (the concert takes place from 3 p.m. to midnight on March 5 and 6 and is available on Twitch and on YouTube).

Listening to SHAED's song vaguely brought to mind the Red Hot Chili Peppers' epic "Snow (Hey Oh)" from 2008, mostly because, well you'll figure it out.  Hope you enjoy-oy-oy.
