The Next Generation Of Stormtrumpers Is Being Taught To Hate

One of the most disturbing things about the racist and xenophobic virus that neo- fascist Republican front- runner Donald "Rump" Trump is spreading in the country is how it's presenting itself in our children.  It seems "Trump!" is becoming a taunt and a threat that's hurled at anyone who's deemed to be "them" by white students in an increasing number of instances.  This virus has been mostly dormant, alive but under the surface, but Rump and his enablers in the Republican/ New Confederate/ Stupid/ Shooter's party have allowed it to come out in the open where it is infecting a potential next generation of Stormtrumpers.

Paula Dvorak sees the contamination in elementary school children, even in diverse Fairfax County, Virginia, and Annapolis, Maryland:

“Get ’em out!” is what Trump screams at every rally when he sees Black Lives Matter and other protesters, even silent ones. This is not far off from what some third-graders allegedly said to two brown-skinned classmates in their Northern Virginia classroom. The mother of one of the children, Evelyn Momplaisir, posted an account on Facebook:

“I just got a call from my son’s teacher giving me a heads up that two of his classmates decided to point out the ‘immigrants’ in the class who would be sent ‘home’ when Trump becomes president. They singled him out and were pointing and laughing at him as one who would have to leave because of the color of his skin. In third grade . . . in Fairfax County . . . in 2016!”

Dvorak then catalogs Rump's many affronts to decency and tolerance in the guise of not being "politically correct" and asks,

You think kids aren’t going to play this out in the schoolyard?

Even if they’re not taking their phrases directly from Trump’s playbook, his guided free-for-all has unleashed a growing atmosphere of hate.

I don’t know whether Trump was the inspiration for the kids on an all-white Annapolis-area hockey team who singled out the black players on my son’s team, calling them the N-word and harassing them throughout the game. But they heard those words somewhere. They learned that cruelty somewhere. And I don’t think it’s a stretch to blame their behavior on the nation’s growing tolerance of open displays of bigotry.

Dave Zirin sketches two recent examples of the contagion at the high school level:

At a recent game between Perry [Iowa] and a rival team from Dallas Center-Grimes high school, opposing fans chanted “Trump” and racial slurs, and threatened to build a wall and kick the Perry players out of the country. After the incident, Perry student Kevin Lopez told reporters, “We are all aware of racism; it’s alive and well in small portions, but it’s alive and well, and it’s just hurtful to see that’s what they resort to.” By the way, Perry won that game 57–50.

That was a public school matchup. In Merrillville, Indiana, two Catholic schools—both part of the Gary, Indiana, Diocese—Bishop Noll and Andrean, faced off. The Bishop Noll team is majority Latino and had to face a large Donald Trump head being held up in the Andrean student section. Andrean students, according to numerous reports, also chanted “Build a wall!” and “Speak English!”

Note that these are just some of the incidents being reported;  we have no doubt whatsoever that there are many young minds being influenced by the hate speech emanating primarily from Rump, but also from his Neanderthal competitors, "Tailgunner Ted" Cruz and Marco "Roboto" Rubio.  After all, it's what a large segment of the Republican/ New Confederate/ Stupid/ Shooter's party now demands in its candidates:  open, raw racism and xenophobia.  "Telling it like it is."  "Saying what's on people's minds."  "Not politically correct."  All of that is leading to an even more un- civil society, with seeds being planted for the next generation of haters.

The ugliness you've been seeing in their campaigns and "debates" is now playing out on playgrounds and gyms all over the country, and it's perhaps the most despicable legacy of this despicable cast of characters and their party.

Trump Rallies The (Storm) Troops In Alabama (Updated)

No, we're not exaggerating.  Here are some snippets describing some of the estimated 20,000 (!) low-brows (some shouting "White Power!") who showed up for Republican front-runner and America's answer to Juan Peron, Donald "Rump" Trump's rally in the armpit of American sedition, Mobile, AL, yesterday:

On the street, Olaf Childress, a neo-Confederate activist, gave out copies of “The First Freedom” newspaper, which had headlines about “Black-on-white crime,” “occupied media” and “censored details of the Holocaust.”  [snip]

Cheryl Burns, 60, was on a road trip from California when she heard that Trump would be in Alabama. She turned her car around and got in line, warning people of what happened to states when liberals took them over.

“There is no more California,” Burns said. “It’s now international, lawless territory. Everything is up for grabs. Illegal aliens are murdering people there. People are being raped. Trump isn’t lying about anything — the rest of the country just hasn’t found out yet.”

But wait, there's more:

“When he gets in there, he’ll figure it out,” said Amanda Mancini, who said she had traveled from California to see Mr. Trump. “So we do have to trust him, but he has something that we can trust in. We can look at the Trump brand, we can look at what he’s done, and we can say that’s how he’s done everything.”

Still, others said they had plenty of advice for the man they regularly identified in conversation as “Mr. Trump.”

“Hopefully, he’s going to sit there and say, ‘When I become elected president, what we’re going to do is we’re going to make the border a vacation spot, it’s going to cost you $25 for a permit, and then you get $50 for every confirmed kill,’ ” said Jim Sherota, 53, who works for a landscaping company. “That’d be one nice thing.”

So, when Rump's fans aren't actually beating up people, they're merely fantasizing about killing them.

 "Donald Trump is telling the truth and people don't always like that," said Donald Kidd, a 73-year-old retired pipe welder from Mobile. "He is like George Wallace, he told the truth. It is the same thing.

Hmmm. Yeah, George Wallace.

Right-wingers in this country are overly fond of laughably, nonsensically ascribing Nazi tendencies to the Kenyan Socialist Usurper President, but if these Republican Trumpistas aren't brownshirts in the flesh, we're Tsar of All the Russias.

Trump isn't really a politician, of course. He's a strongman act, a ridiculous parody of a Nietzschean superman. His followers get off on watching this guy with (allegedly) $10 billion and a busty mute broad on his arm defy every political and social convention and get away with it.

People are tired of rules and tired of having to pay lip service to decorum. They want to stop having to watch what they say and think and just get "crazy," as Thomas Friedman would put it.  [snip]

Those of us who think polls and primaries and debates are any match for that are pretty naive. America has been trending stupid for a long time. Now the stupid wants out of its cage, and Trump is urging it on. There are a lot of ways this can go wrong, no matter who wins in 2016.  (our emphasis)

How's That Republican Rebranding Coming Along? (Cont.)

Let's take a look at what's going on in Washington, DC, as the Rethugs try to "rebrand" their New Confederate/ Stupid party:

Utah Rethuglican Sen. Mike Lee has proposed an amendment to the immigration reform legislation currently being marked up.  His helpful proposal

... would allow undocumented immigrants to be lawfully employed -- but only only as domestic workers.

Lee's amendment would exempt undocumented immigrants working as "cooks, waiters, butlers, housekeepers, governessess, maids, valets, baby sitters, janitors, laundresses, furnacemen, care-takers, handymen, gardeners, footmen, grooms, and chauffeurs of automobiles for family use" from prohibitions against "unlawful employment" for undocumented immigrants. [our emphasis]

You've o.k. if you cut my lawn or wash the dishes!  Es muy blanco de ustedes!

Of course, that's only one of the egregious, insulting anti-immigrant amendments offered by Senate Rethuglicans;  check 'em all out!

But they aren't the only Rethuglicans out a-courtin' the Hispanic voters, no siree!  They've got the assembled brainpower of the right-wing Heritage Foundation to help them (and it's new president, former Senator and continuing crackpot Jim "Demented" DeMint).  Heritage recently put out a pile of shit report claiming immigration reform would be unacceptably costly.  Come to find one of the report's authors has some racist highly dubious ideas about intelligence:

The Heritage Foundation’s analysis of the economic consequences of immigration reform uses absurd methodology to come to conclusions entirely at odds with the organization’s own findings in 2006. Perhaps one explanation for this incoherence is that one of the paper’s coauthors, a new hire, opposes Hispanic immigration because he thinks Latinos are stupid.

Jason Richwine joined Heritage in 2010, after finishing his PhD in Public Policy in 2009. The Washington Post’s Dylan Matthews dug up Richwine’s dissertation, which was titled “IQ And Immigration.” In it, Richwine argues that Hispanics have and will always have lower IQs than whites. Matthews summarizes:

Richwine’s dissertation asserts that there are deep-set differentials in intelligence between races. While it’s clear he thinks it is partly due to genetics — ‘the totality of the evidence suggests a genetic component to group differences in IQ’ — he argues the most important thing is that the differences in group IQs are persistent, for whatever reason. He writes, ‘No one knows whether Hispanics will ever reach IQ parity with whites, but the prediction that new Hispanic immigrants will have low-IQ children and grandchildren is difficult to argue against.‘

Oh, Pancho!  Oh, Cisco!  Tambien es muy blanca!

Of course, Heritage and some other right-wingers are back-pedaling from Mr. Richwine.  But, as the bill is marked up in the Senate, it's hard to ignore the inherent racism and inhumanity of the Rethuglican proposals.  They seem to be in accord with Mr. Richwine's "thesis" in more than just a casual way.

American Talibangelist: Latinos Are "Socialist By Nature"

Ladies and gentlemen, we present the unchastened id of the New Confederate/ Rethuglican Party, Bryan Fischer of the "American Family Association" in a rant about why we need to keep immigrants out of America (hint: it has something to do with voting):



Notice a pattern emerging here? Moochers and makers anyone? 47 percenters? It seems one of the lessons some on the Rethuglican right have taken from the election results is that "too many of the wrong people voted." You know who "they" are: African Americans (a.k.a., "urban voters"), youth, single women, poor people and, of course, Latinos -- i.e., the people who "want stuff." Look for more of this horseshit racist and misogynist analysis coming from the right as a palliative for their sense that white people they've "lost America."

Of course, this wouldn't be the first time Fischer has proven himself to be a racist, xenophobic moron. Oh, no.
