Unindicted war criminal Dick "The Dick" Cheney continues in his attempt to avoid blame for the conflagration in Iraq due to his sinister machinations a decade ago.  Even Fux's Megyn Kelly was having none of it last week.  When the Wingnut Wurlitzer starts disowning you, it's time to go hunting with your dwindling supporters.

Dick Cheney: Still a Lying Dick

Former president vice president Dick "Dick" Cheney still has a hard time handling the truth. Cheney, showing no small amount of envy, had this to say about President Obama's dispatching of Osama bin Laden:

“If President Obama were participating in his intelligence briefings on a regular basis then perhaps he would understand why people are so offended at his efforts to take sole credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden.”

This from a "man" who should be doing time in a Federal penitentiary, and can't travel to certain countries ("Viva Espana!") for fear of prosecution. And "intelligence briefings?" Does the Dick remember the "Bin Laden determined to strike in U.S." intelligence briefing 36 days before 9/11, after which President Dumbya proclaimed to the intelligence briefer, "All right, you've covered your ass now"?? Perhaps the Dick was dozing off. (See also the NY Times article linked to in the update to the "Life from the Ruins" posting below if you want the full picture of Cheney's and Bush's incompetence.)

Of course, President Obama has not only NOT taken sole credit, he always passes the credit around:

The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice.

"We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.

"Finally, let me say to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 that we have never forgotten your loss, nor wavered in our commitment to see that we do whatever it takes to prevent another attack on our shores.

"And tonight, let us think back to the sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. I know that it has, at times, frayed. Yet today’s achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country and the determination of the American people."

Is it too much to ask this sack of shite to crawl back under the rock from whence he came?

Chickenhawk Cheney At It Again

If anyone symbolizes the foreign and military policy disasters of the Bushit Assministration, it's the evil one himself: former (Vice) President The Dick, who is weighing in again about President Obama's Afghanistan policy. "You know, if you're out there on the line day in and day out," said the draft-dodging Veep, whose experience with "lines" was with the brunch buffet during the Vietnam War. The Dick was critical that the President's caution "may in part be inexperience on Obama's part."

I mean, really. That old turd wants us to imagine that he knows the horrors of war, and that he speaks "from the perspective of the troops." He sent thousands to be killed and wounded in Iraq, a country that wasn't involved in 9-11 and that posed no national security threat to us and he talks about "experience?" We don't need more of his "experience."

Chickenhawk Dick Squawks Again

The Dick is at it again. In a speech to a room full of neocons armchair generals* yesterday, The Dick attacked President Obama's deliberate process in deciding on troop levels in Afghanistan. Saying that the President was "afraid" to make a decision, The Dick claimed that he was hearing "the drumbeat of defeatism" regarding Afghanistan. (Actually, The Dick might want to cut back on the medication to see if that eliminates the drumbeat sound in his head).

To review recent history, it was The Dick's regime in 2008 that rejected the commanding general's request for an additional 30,000 troops for Afghanistan -- the country from which we were attacked on 9-11 -- while we continued to wage war on a country that wasn't involved in that attack, that had no contact with al Qaeda, and that had no weapons of mass destruction. Chickenhawk Dick is all for involving us in military adventures overseas, weakening our military capabilities by stretching them to the breaking point, while at a comfortable distance from the battles.

To review more distant history, no one who claimed to have had "other priorities" during the Vietnam War in obtaining 5 deferments should be accusing anyone of being "afraid." Although given The Dick's "skill" with a shotgun, it's probably best for our troops that he sat out the Vietnam War.
