Time To Drop The Bomb(s)

A few weeks ago, after  neo- fascist sex offender (allegedly!) Donald "Rump" Trump was bombarded by multiple accusations of sexual assault, Republican strategist (and #NeverTrump -er) Liz Mair tweeted this:

By the way, the two really, really bad stories I mentioned would soon be dropping still haven't actually dropped.

As far as we can tell, those stories still haven't dropped. Perhaps they involve more sex crimes; perhaps they involve Rump's ties to Russia ("Is it responsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to."). Far be it for us to advise the Clinton campaign professionals, but if their opposition research folks have more Rump bombshells tucked away (and we think they do), now would be the time to go "bombs away!" and let the nitwit corporate media feast on that for the next seven days.

9/11 Mayor Rudy "Toot Tooty" Giuliani's use of public funds to facilitate his extra-marital affair with current wife Judy Nathan (see our 11/28 post) is starting to grow into a full-blown shitstorm. ABC News says that Nathan used the NYPD as a "taxi service" when Rudy was carrying on an affair with her while married to Donna Hanover. She had a NYPD police officer and vehicle to chauffeur her around, while Rudy was mayor. Rudy had the charges billed to various New York agencies to cover his tracks.

But Pat Robertson has endorsed Rudy Toot Tooty, so he must be OK with the Lord.

"Foxes in the Henhouse"

Ruth Marcus put her finger on the problem when you have little regard for the government you're ostensibly supposed to be managing (eg., the Bush Assministration). Her article in today's WaPo points to several instances (out of many) of Assministration officials disdaining the laws they're supposed to enforce and taking a "spoils-of-war" approach to governance (several of the names - J. Steven Griles and Lurita Doan - are all-too-familiar to abuse of power afficionados). Marcus notes that "there is something in the 'loyal Bushies' mind-set of this administration and its fundamental scorn for government that contributes to this arrogant misbehavior."
