Two More Women Come Forward To Accuse Trump Of Sexual Misconduct

This is getting numbing in its sheer awfulness (graphic descriptions follow):

Kristin Anderson was deep in conversation with acquaintances at a crowded Manhattan nightspot and did not notice the figure to her right on a red velvet couch — until, she recalls, his fingers slid under her miniskirt, moved up her inner thigh, and touched her vagina through her underwear. 

Anderson shoved the hand away, fled the couch and turned to take her first good look at the man who had touched her, she said. 

She recognized him as Donald Trump: “He was so distinctive looking — with the hair and the eyebrows. I mean, nobody else has those eyebrows.”  (our emphasis)

Another woman is coming forward to accuse Donald Trump of sexual misconduct against her. 

The woman, Summer Zervos, appeared Friday afternoon alongside attorney Gloria Allred to accuse the Republican presidential nominee of groping and kissing her during a business meeting. 

Zervos, was a candidate on “The Apprentice” in season five, decided to come forward after hearing Trump’s “obscene” language on a 2005 hot mic recording and then, during Sunday’s presidential debate, denied that he had ever engaged in sexual misconduct. 

She said Trump accosted her during a meeting at the Beverly Hills Hotel during a 2007 meeting about job opportunities. 

A security guard ushered her to a bungalow, where Trump greeted her, apparently in the nude in a bedroom, with a sing-song hello — which made Zervos uncomfortable. (our emphasis)

Recall when Trump was asked at the second presidential debate if he in fact had groped women (as he had bragged about), he responded in the negative.  Apparently, the sheer audacity of that lie is what's driving women who've suffered Trump's unwanted advances to come forward and testify. By our count, that's 14 women who've accused Trump of sexual assault or misconduct.

Since he's been exposed as a serial sexual predator, expect more to speak out.

BONUS:  Today, all but admitting he'd grope, he said of one accuser, "She wouldn't be my first choice." (The audience laughed and applauded.)  Someone get a net.

O.K.  So, this wasn't just "locker room talk," it was sexual assault. Is anyone surprised at this? Think about it. He's a predator, and he's the nominee of the Republican Party.

Republican Sex Blotter - Sexual Predator Quarantine Edition

Concurrent with Tennessee's Republican legislature installing the Bible as the State's "official book" comes this update on one of their Republican legislators who wanted to bang something other than the Bible:

House Speaker Beth Harwell banished Rep. Jeremy Durham to a new office building Thursday and limited his access to staff after a scathing Tennessee attorney general report found the Franklin Republican engaged in inappropriate physical contact and potentially poses a "continuing risk to unsuspecting women."

"Based upon the information gathered thus far, Representative Durham's alleged behavior may pose a continuing risk to unsuspecting women who are employed by or interact with the legislature," Attorney General Herbert Slatery said in a letter to House officials.

In accordance with the attorney general's findings, Harwell, R-Nashville, is limiting Durham's access to certain legislative buildings — including moving his office across the street — and he has been barred from having contact with almost all staff or interns as the investigation continues.  (our emphasis)

This predator first crossed our radar screen earlier this year after he resigned from his leadership position (!) after reports of his transgressions came to light.  He also had a background of sleazy dealings, which would be entirely in keeping with his party affiliation.

Republican Sex Crime And Sedition Blotter - Texas Edition

Mama, don't let your babies grow up to be Republicans (h/t Crooks and Liars):

[James Maines, Jr., former deputy district director] to Congressman Smoky Joe Barton of Dallas pled guilty to knowingly possessing child pornography and trying to send it to his House account.

Not to be outdone by the big city fellas, less than 48 hours later the Chief of Staff to East Texas Republican Congressman Matt Schaefer was arrested on charges of soliciting a minor under 14 – Judd Quarles was booked into the Smith County jail on $350,000 bond.

While authorities were rounding up these paragons of Republican family values, more Republican mischief was headed off at the pass:

State GOP leaders, in a predictable but closely watched vote, have defeated a proposal to ask Texas voters whether they favor secession.  

In a voice vote Saturday afternoon, the State Republican Executive Committee rejected a measure that would have put the issue on the March 1 primary ballot. The ballot language would have been non-binding, amounting to a formal survey of voters on whether they would like to see Texas declare its independence from the United States.

While the proposal's defeat was expected, the measure had sparked some heated debate on the 60-member executive committee, the governing body of the Republican Party of Texas. Seeking to avoid a protracted fight, the executive committee voted earlier Saturday afternoon to cap discussion of the issue at 30 minutes then put it to an up-or-down vote.

Tanya Robertson, the SREC member who introduced the proposal, argued at the executive committee meeting in Austin that the measure would have been "harmless," allowing voters to register an "opinion only." She also suggested the ballot language would have helped "get out the vote" among some Texas Republicans who have been sitting out recent elections.

"The goal of these is to take a thermometer of how Texans feels about an issue, and what better issue for Texans to do that with?" she asked.  (our emphasis)

Just a harmless, non- binding ballot measure asking if Texas voters wanted to commit treason.  Hey, they just want to get the shut- in crackpots out to the polls!  Nothing to see here.  Move along.

Judging from the character of their Republican officials,  Texans may want to be careful how and where that "thermometer" is inserted.

Ding-Dong. Child Porn Vice Squad Calling

It no longer surprises:

A 46-year-old Michigan member of the group Tea Party Patriots was named Tuesday in a criminal complaint on charges of distributing and receiving illicit photos and video of children. According to The Smoking Gun, Brian Schwanke is accused of using the email account “h*rnypastor@outlook.com" to send and receive hundreds of provocative images of underage children.

TSG detailed how as recently as last week, Schwanke was ranting on his Facebook page about President Barack Obama’s behavior during a portion of the funeral for South Africa’s Nelson Mandela.  [snip]

Schwanke’s profile — which has now been either deleted or made private — proclaimed that the U.S. “WAS founded on a CHRISTIAN foundation, and the progressive, atheist left is running us into the ground to create a Socialist country that will fall like all the others.”  [our emphasis]

Too bad.  With his credentials, he would've been a natural as Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander's chief of staff.
