After a long hiatus, multiple Grammy-winning band Alabama Shakes is back with a new album, "I Must Be Dreaming." Led by singer / guitarist Brittany Howard, their songs reflect a more laid-back, trippy feel this time around. "I Feel Hope Coming" is one such track on their album. Enjoy.
Indie folk artist Phoebe Bridgers' third solo album "Lost Weekend" is due out in mid-August. The four-time Grammy winner -- also a member of the supergroup boygenius -- released a single from that album a few days ago, "Lost Boys," which is our mid-week song choice. Enjoy.
Singer / songwriter Steve Earle moved to his adopted New York City some years ago from Nashville and wrote this song in 2007. According to a story in Variety, Earle was texting Bruce Springsteen around the time that he was performing in Minneapolis in support of the immigrant community, and thought, "Bruce showed up there, and I’m home in New York, like, ‘Get off your ass, Earle!’” The result is a new video featuring that song from almost 20 years ago and filmed documentary-style on the streets of NYC, directed by the great Steve Buscemi.
