Weekend Music Threefer

Today we're featuring music for another social- distancing weekend.

"Don't Stand So Close To Me," by The Police, has that social- distancing title (but we know that's not what the song's about, as the video makes clear!).

"Handle Me With Care," by The Traveling Wilburys, also has a title that suggests how we should treat everyone affected by the pandemic, whether sick, well, struggling or not.

"Three Little Birds," is a Bob Marley song that has an optimistic message that we hope will be borne out in the long term (after some hard work and dedication);  it's also to honor Marley, who passed away 39 years ago on May 11.

(h/t on the first two to Feline Mama, and on the last one to Silver Spring Bureau Chief Brian)

Weekend Music

British-American supergroup the Traveling Wilburys (George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne) recorded their self- titled album nearly 30 years ago this month.  Sadly, three of the five Wilburys are no longer with us. Orbison, in fact, passed away before this video, "End of the Line" was made (hence the empty chair with Orbison's guitar and the fleeting shots of a photo of him). We thought of this song this week when it appeared the noose was tightening around a certain orange shitgibbon, as we all hope for an end of the line for him and his crime family.  Make it so!  Enjoy.

Mid-Week Song

"Handle With Care" was a 1988 hit by the Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup made up of George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne. They ceased recording following the death of Orbison in December 1988. George Harrison, who died in 2001, would have been 68 this Friday.
