Cory Booker, Opportunist

When Newark, NJ Mayor Cory "Snooker" Booker appeared on Press the Meat yesterday, one could anticipate a news-making moment for the spotlight-seeking Mayor. True to form, Snooker played the role of Very Serious Person when he condemned recent Obama campaign ads targeting Willard "Job Destroyer" Romney's empty claim as a job creator. He played the false equivalence card by mentioning the right wing's proposed ad on Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the President. Snooker's comments were immediately praised by Rethuglicans. Feeling the heat from Dems, Snooker later walked back his statements.

Weird Willard has made his "expertise" as a job-creating businessman the centerpiece of his campaign. Questioning that nonsense is absolutely fair game for the Obama campaign. Snooker knows that, of course, but he has his eyes on statewide office, and he wants to ensure that campaign contributions from wealthy investors flow to him. As Rethuglican Gov. Chris "Kris Krispycreme" Christie's occasional partner in political crime, Snooker's not a reliable surrogate for the Obama campaign, as his appearance yesterday demonstrated. Face it: Snooker is looking out for Snooker's career, period.

UPDATE: Looks like there's a Bain Capital-Cory Booker financial connection. We're shocked, shocked!
