Sen. Jim Webb issued his Shermanesque press release today, saying he would not be a candidate for Vice President. Guess that means you can scratch him off our earlier list of possible Obama running mates. Several others on the list have taken themselves out of contention (Strickland and Rendell) and another is probably DOA after the latest media Mount Molehill (Clark).
One drops off, another joins the speculation: former House Majority Leader Rep. Richard Gephardt of Missouri.
