CNN's "poll of polls" indicates that in the period ending September 16, Sen. Obama erased the Gov. Who? bounce after the Rethug fibfest in St. Paul, and is now an average of 2 points up on McPanic. The effect of the Wall Street crash, and how much it will move undecided (or leaning Rethuglican) voters, should start being measured in the polls over the next five days, but the trend is obvious.
The downright dishonesty of the McSleazy campaign, Gov. Who?'s gaffes and stonewalling on "troopergate," and McSleazy's cluelessness on the economy are starting to register with all but the most hardcore base of the Rethuglican Party. Once the majority of the public realizes that McSleazy and his top advisors were instrumental in deregulating the financial and insurance markets over the last 20 years, who knows what the polls will show then.
