Another Seat Down The Drain?

When Vice President Biden was elected, the Senate seat that he held for 36 years was filled on a interim basis by his long-time aide Ted Kaufmann, with the expectation that Biden's son Beau, Delaware's Attorney General, would run in 2010. The Rethugs are expected to put up popular Representative Mike "White" Castle. Unfortunately, Biden has announced that he won't run to fill his father's seat, so White Castle has a much easier race in front of him and is the new favorite to win.

Not to question Biden's intestinal fortitude, but compare his situation with that of Massachusetts Sen.-elect Scott "Centerfold" Brown who until the last couple of weeks was written off in the face of what was expected to be an easy Democratic win. The Rethugs are throwing caution to the wind and going for it; Dems are putting their finger in the wind and running from it.
