Republi-Math
It shouldn't surprise anyone that Congressional Rethugs are touting a bogus plan to "cut spending," as this item in Think Progress notes. Their budget smoke-generator purports to have come up with $2.5 trillion in spending cuts over 10 years, when in reality the cuts add up to $330 billion. Rethug Rep. John "Figures Lie" Campbell was oddly enough pinned down by Fux's Neil Cavuto, and did his best imitation of Ralph Kramden's humna-humna-humna when he couldn't give a straight answer.
Expect more of the same in the months ahead, as Rethugs realize that being in the House majority means sticking closer to the facts than they're used to doing. Making things up (to put it civilly) like they did when in the minority won't cut it now that they need to play the mommies and daddies.
