Rethug Govs On A Slippery Slope
Rethuglican politicians like to pretend that they represent the "voice of the people," when in fact, as Steve Benen points out, that's hardly the case. The overreaching of several far right Rethug Governors is costing them public support in their states. They apparently thought they could get away with imposing a right-wing agenda that they didn't campaign on. From Wisconsin to Ohio to Michigan, the governors who rode in on an off-year teatard wave pushed for destroying public unions, cutting taxes for corporate benefactors, and otherwise acting like empowered autocrats. It's only served to awaken not only the Dem base, but independent voters who never approved the radical positions taken by the Rethug Govs.
