Bomb, Shootings Rock Oslo
One or more powerful bombs rocked a government complex in downtown Oslo today, killing at least 7 and injuring many more. No claim of responsibility as yet. The target of the bombing was the Prime Minister's office; the Prime Minister was reportedly unhurt.
There were also reports of a shooting at a Norwegian Labor Party youth camp event just outside Oslo, where more fatalities and injuries were sustained. One can presume the shooting and bombing are related, although police are not confirming that at this point.
We, of course, express our deepest sympathies to the Norwegian people for these cowardly terrorist acts.
UPDATE: The Norwegian Justice Minister is reporting the person apprehended at the shooting site is a "Nordic appearing" Norwegian. He was also spotted in Oslo earlier.
