After yesterday's east coast earthquake, we were tempted to pick something like "Shake, Rattle and Roll," or "I Felt the Earth Move." Instead, to note the passing of one of rock music's great songwriters, Jerry Leiber, who died earlier this week, we have his beautiful "Stand By Me." Leiber, along with his partner Mike Stoller, wrote such classics as "Hound Dog," "Charlie Brown," "Jailhouse Rock," "On Broadway," "Yakety Yak," and "Love Potion #9." RIP.
