The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the monthly jobs report this morning, and the jobs figures, while not spectacular, were better than expected. The private sector added 154,000 new jobs, but 37,00 jobs were lost in the public sector, for a net of 117,000 jobs. That brought the unemployment rate down from 9.2% to 9.1%.
Meanwhile, a new New York Times/CBS News poll indicates President Obama maintaining his approval level at 48%, while Congressional Rethuglicans/Teatards and the Orange Boner are at dismal levels: 72% disapproved of the way the Rethug right handled the debt ceiling crisis (vs. 66% Dems), and Teatards are now viewed unfavorably by 40% (vs. 20% favorable). A solid 43% think the teabaggers have too much influence in the Rethuglican / New Confederate Party.
