Quote of the Day

"I believe this is, without question, the Tea Party downgrade. This is the Tea Party downgrade because a minority of people in the House of Representatives countered even the will of many Republicans in the United States Senate who were prepared to do a bigger deal." -- Sen. John Kerry on Sunday's "Press the Meat." Although Kerry sometimes has trouble getting a message straight, he really hit this one solidly. In contrast, the White House declined to spotlight the malicious role of Congressional teabaggers in the downgrading, choosing instead to focus on an accounting error made by the "messenger" -- Standard & Poor's. That's pathetic and a losing strategy.
