Why No One Should Expect Much

Ezra Klein writes today about why no one - himself included - should expect much to happen as a result of Obama's address to Congress on jobs and the economy (oh, yes, and we mustn't forget "the deficit" and Obama's validation of that debilitating Rethuglican boogeyman). This Hackwhacker plans to find some alternative programming on the night of the speech (is "American Pickers" or "Holmes on Homes" on?). Why? I believe in my mother's maxim that it's better to expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised than to expect rainbows and sparkling ponies and be sorely disappointed.
