At His Best

The past week has been a hectic one for President Obama, first with the G-8 meeting at Camp David, followed by the NATO summit in Chicago. Interspersed were the daily governmental and political chores that follow the President (thanks again, Snooker Booker!).

Perhaps the President's best moment came when he delivered the commencement address to Joplin high school students one year after the devastating tornado claimed 161 lives. Praising their community's spirit and sacrifice, it was one of those crystal moments, away from the pressures of governing, where this President is at his best:
"You can serve as a reminder that we're not meant to walk this road alone; that we're not expected to face down adversity by ourselves. We need each other. We're important to each other. We're stronger together than we are on our own."
