This chart, which was shown the other evening on the Rachel Maddow Show, speaks volumes about the distribution of wealth -- and therefore opportunity -- in the American economy. Most Americans underestimate the percentage of wealth held by the top 20%, and desire a more even spread of wealth. Given the "middle class" is the 60% represented by the orange, red and light blue bars, it's easy to see why there's a sense of anger and frustration over the rigged political/economic game.
