Well-lubricated weather vane and Etch-A-Sketch master Willard "Self Deportation" Romney was quizzed by CBS' Bob Schieffer yesterday on the President's order not to deport immigrants who were brought here illegally by their parents. To no one's surprise, when asked if he would repeal the executive order, Willard weaseled out and refused to give a yes or no answer on five occasions.
Clearly, this issue has the Rethuglicans on the defensive, as well it should, considering their abject extremism during the Rethug primaries. When Willard said he thought the "papers please" policies of Arizona's Gov. Jan "Witches Brew" Brewer should be adopted nationally, and that illegal immigrants should "self deport," he locked in his, and his party's, position going into November. No amount of Etch-A-Sketching on his part, or ducking questions, will erase that.
