Triple Crown!
Congratulations to the Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera for being the first Major League ballplayer in 45 years to win the Triple Crown. Boston Red Sox great Carl Yastrzemski was the last ballplayer to do it in 1967. Cabrera finished with a .330 average, 44 home runs, and 139 runs batted in. (It's also Cabrera's second consecutive batting title.) Given how rarely this happens (only 14 players, including the likes of Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig, Rogers Hornsby and Ty Cobb, have done it), it's an achievement to pause over and remember.
