Maricopa County Arizona's infamous Sheriff, Joe "Joey Oops" Arpaio, has run afoul of a Federal Court, which found him to be profiling Latinos on traffic stops and in other instances in order to determine their immigration status. Ruling in favor of Latinos who had brought suit in U.S. District Court, Judge Murray Snow also found that Joey Oops's department detained Latinos pulled over for traffic violations for an unreasonable amount of time.
While the ruling doesn't impose a fine or other penalty on Joey Oops, it sends a signal that his tactic of harassing Latinos is on the Court's radar, and he won't be getting away with it in the future.
