Former Congressman and former underwear model Anthony "My Name Is My Fame" Weiner announced yesterday that he is running for Mayor of New York City. Weiner released a two minute YouTube video, where he talks about his plans for New York, acknowledges his "mistakes" which cost him his seat in Congress, and features his lovely wife and former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Dem favorite Christine Quinn currently leads the crowded Dem field, with Weiner rising (sorry). You can expect New York's tabloid media to grill Weiner (sorry) again about his peckerdilloes (sorry, we'll stop for now).
While we're all for second chances in life, an inner voice should be telling Weiner "go into private law practice and focus on your young family...save the politics for another day." Sadly, the way politics works, his "mistakes" will be brought back into the spotlight and into late night monologues, much to his and his wife's continued chagrin.
