Rick "Hair" Perry has announced his decision not to run for re-election for Governor in 2014. Whether Hair has the Rethug Presidential nomination in 2016 in mind or not is an open question; he could end up cashing in on the huge favors he's done for his
big bidness bosses in Texas for a cushy corporate position -- one that doesn't require counting or remembering.
Whatever this walking celebration of ignorance decides to do, he leaves behind an ugly legacy,
nicely summarized in this Think Progress post. Race to the bottom in education? Check. Deregulation of polluters? Check. Mindless vengeance in executing a likely innocent prisoner? Check. It's there, in all of its small-minded, paranoid pandering to the dark angels of our nature.
