Jobs Picture Continues To Improve
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 195,00 jobs were added to the economy in June, a higher number than expected, indicating steady economic growth. The jobs numbers for May and April were also revised upward, providing more evidence of a slowly improving jobs situation, even though the unemployment rate remains at 7.6%. Hiring in the private sector was offset somewhat by continuing contraction in public sector employment.
