Healthy Figures for "Obamacare"
As with everything the President has initiated, the Rethuglicans desperately wanted to sabotage the Affordable Care Act. Round the clock lying ("death panels," "socialized medicine," etc.) and the 2012 elections didn't stop the Act from being implemented (although the botched roll-out was bad enough).
Now, there's new evidence from the Commonwealth Fund that the ACA has reduced the number of uninsured from 20 percent of the working population to 15 percent, and that the people under age 65 who have new insurance thanks to the ACA are overwhelmingly pleased (73 percent). More surprising is that 74 percent of Republicans obtaining new health insurance are pleased. That should dampen whatever enthusiasm Rethug politicos still have for running against "Obamacare" in 2014. Should.
