A Win For Marriage Equality

The Supreme Court today declined to hear appeals from five states -- Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin -- thereby overturning their state laws banning same-sex marriage.  The ruling paves the way for marriage equality forces in other states to successfully challenge their marriage laws.  While the Court's ruling was not expressly applied nationwide, it clears the way for legal challenges to states with anti-same sex marriage laws on their books.  There was no indication of how the nine Justices voted.
