Nominee For Attorney General

President Obama announced New York Federal prosecutor Loretta Lynch as his nominee for Attorney General, to replace Attorney General Eric Holder.   Lynch is a long-time prosecutor, and would be the first African-American woman to hold that important position.

With the Senate due to flip to Republican control in January, Obama said he wants the Senate to act as soon as possible on Lynch's nomination.
