Fading in the polls, House of Bush legacy John Ellis "J.E.B.!" Bush looks like his memory is fading, too. Three years isn't so distant that someone can't remember plutocrat fumbler Willard "Mittens" Romney's infamous 47% statement, which included mentioning that a lot of people << cough Blacks cough >> relied on the Gummint for "free stuff." Here's witless J.E.B.! yesterday in South Carolina, specifically on the question of attracting African-American voters:
"Our message is one of hope and aspiration. It isn't one of division and get in line and we'll take care of you with free stuff."So, surprise!, J.E.B.! shares the same offensive image of African-Americans as unmotivated and lazy that Mittens and the entire Rethuglican / New Confederate / Stupid party have: They're just getting "free stuff" and that's why they vote Democratic. We'll give them a "message of hope and aspiration" because all they need is motivation, not food or a roof over their heads or a quality education."
Yeah, that'll sell to African-Americans.
UPDATE: Singer John Legend tweeted the proper response (h/t No More Mister Nice Blog):
It's always the guys born on 3rd base talking about black people lining up for free stuff. https://t.co/d0MelBqsSK
