A Terrorist Success Story

News item:  A report by the Government Accountability Office reveals that over 2,000 individuals on the terrorist watch list have legally purchased guns -- handguns and assault-style rifles -- in the U.S. over the last 10 years.

While Federal law bans gun sales to felons, fugitives, drug addicts and domestic abusers, it doesn't prevent those on the watch list from buying weapons.  Over the years, Congress has tried to close that gap, but have been blocked by ferocious opposition on the part of the National Rifle Rampage Association and their coin-operated help in Congress.  Which demonstrates that this isn't about "rights" or hunters / sportsmen / collectors;  it's about keeping gun sales rising, no matter who the buyer or what the consequences. It's a terrorist success story, courtesy of the gun manufacturers lobby.

BONUS:  Americans are far more likely to be killed by someone like this than a 3- year- old Syrian orphan.  Republicans aren't afraid of these killers, it seems.
