Weekend Music - Big Star Twofer

Big Star, fronted by the late Alex Chilton, was a critically successful and highly influential band whose peak, arguably, was in the early 1970's.  Here are two songs, "Thirteen" from their 1972 debut album, and "September Gurls" from their 1974 followup album.  See if you can recognize some of their influences and who they in turn might have influenced, and enjoy (h/t San Francisco Bureau Chief Shauna, TCIITM).
