Who can stop Trump? Republicans may have little choice but to vote Clinton
Even if the Republicans could decide on an anti-Trump candidate to ram down the Stormtrumpers' throats at the convention, it would be a futile and suicidal exercise. As we've noted, the majority of Rethugs will ultimately revert to their tribal mentality and vote for their inevitable candidate, neo-fascist demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump because he'll have an "R" by his name on the ballot. But there will be a minority in that party that will either 1) vote down-ballot only and decline to vote for Rump at the top of the ticket, or, less likely, 2) split the ticket and vote for (presumed nominee) Hillary Clinton and every down-ballot Republican. (Better still if they would stay home fuming).
Oooh, the schadenfreude!
