Michael Bloomberg Not Running For President

Former New York City mayor and multi- billionaire Michael Bloomberg has been teasing a presidential run as an independent for at least several months.  Just moments ago, he made his announcement ... not to run, because,

As the race stands now, with Republicans in charge of both Houses, there is a good chance that my candidacy could lead to the election of Donald Trump or Senator Ted Cruz. That is not a risk I can take in good conscience.

There's plenty of both- siderism in his announcement, but the fact remains that the prospect of him dividing the anti- Trump/ Cruz vote in the general election was a worry among Democrats.  Now that worry is off the table.  Good for him.

Now, if there's any split, it's far more likely to happen on the right.  Good for us.
