Neocon Advisors? What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

With his campaign for the Rethuglican nomination going nowhere fast, young chickenhawk Sen. Marco "Roboto" Rubio is throwing bullshit caution to the wind....along with his chances. In a last-ditch attempt to bolster his microscopic foreign policy credentials, Roboto has named a neocon who's who as an advisory team: Elliott Abrams, Dan Senor, Eliot Cohen, Paula Dobriansky and many other alumni from Dumbya and Dick's discredited foreign policy team. These are the clueless ideologues that helped to engineer and perpetuate the Iraq war: the U.S.'s worst foreign policy debacle and a devastating war based on false intelligence sold to the American people.

The linked article above notes that several of Roboto's "neocon dream team" are connected with the notorious Project For The New American Century (PNAC), an outfit that promoted an aggressively militaristic approach to foreign affairs, particularly in the Middle East. Not surprisingly, their chairman was none other than William "Wee Willie" Kristol, who has yet to be right on anything relating to foreign policy, or... anything. PNAC's goal was to build support "for a Reaganite policy of military strength and moral clarity," and for the U.S. to adopt a stance of "benevolent global hegemony." Read that to mean U.S. military intervention around the world, the more the better.

Roboto's not shy about embracing even the tattered name of PNAC when he promised in his announcement for President (and ever since on the campaign trail) to build "a new American century." What could possibly go wrong?
