Last week, we posted the news that George Mason University -- a growing hotbed of right-wing "academics" in Northern Virginia -- had decided to name its school of law after the late "Justice" Antonin Scalia. When the name was announced, the Antonin Scalia School of Law, widespread laughter ensued (and not just because a law school was named after the reactionary, jiggery pokery judge). The acronym was an unfortunate (but fitting) reflection on the late Mr. Scalia: ASSoL or ASSLaw. Bwahahaha. Now, the school wants to tweak the name.
There's also a move afoot to reject the school's naming plan altogether.
Here's a folksy law that applies: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
